Travelling from the UK

There are a growing number of options for getting to Whistler from the UK. Direct flights to Vancouver from London are available from Zoom and from BA and Air Canada .

If you are travelling from outside London KLM offer connections from a variety of regional airports via Amsterdam. To check the most economical options for your trip it's worth checking the online travel agents such as Opodo and Expedia as various airlines put specials on from time to time.

A further option that is sometimes cheaper is to fly to Seattle, hire a car and drive from there. This is only worth doing for a longer trip as you are adding 2 hours to the drive time.

Airport parking is always cheaper if you book in advance and there are a number of national operators such as Purple Parking and Holiday Extras, the latter also offers hotels with parking that can be a cheaper option particularly for a two week trip. You can also book a hotel room with parking direct with the major hotels such as Hilton Finally if you want a bit of peace and quiet at the airport you can also pay to use a lounge.

Arrivals in Canada are often late afternoon or evening and if you are planning to drive a stopover in Vancouver is a good option. With the time difference visitors from the UK will be awake early enough to get to Whistler before the lifts open. Alternatively Vancouver is well worth a day of our trip for exploring or shopping. Opodo and Expedia are again good sources for discounted rates or book directly with the likes of Hilton who have two hotels within 5 minutes drive of the airport.
Transfers to Whistler

If you are travelling on your own, the bus is most likely the best way to get to Whistler. There are three companies running regular transfers, Perimeter, Greyhound and Snowbus (winter only). Perimeter are the only company offering transfers directly from the airport and ticket prices reflect this, if you stop over in Vancouver Greyhound or Snowbus are both much cheaper.

If there are a group of you, your options are to get a private transfer, or hire a car or van. Perimeter offer the former as do various limousine companies and one way prices start at C$350 and depend on the size of the vehicle. Expedia, Ebookers and Opodo offer car hire but it's also worth checking the online websites for the car hire companies as you may get better rates and you won't have to pay in advance. Don't turn up without a booking as you will then pay top prices! The following all have on site rental facilities.

Finally if money is no object and you want to get skiing in a hurry helijet may be the answer, prices start at $205, per person, for a one way trip.
